AAPI & Black Solidarity
City Slicker Farms is saddened by the hate and violence around the country towards our Black & Asian community members. As an act of solidarity, our Volunteer Coordinator Vera Lopez (@ixmu.jpg on Instagram) has created this beautiful mural to represent our support and dedication towards these two communities. Vera says,” Although the Ohlone people are the true OGs of the land we farm on, we can’t forget that the AAPI & Black community has been here a long time. As a Latina, I created this piece to show respect to these communities and release some of the emotions I have been feeling due to all the violence that has been occurring the past year against both of these communities.” These communities make up the heart and soul of City Slicker Farms so we share this to say we see you, we hear you and we stand with you.
