March Food Justice Discussion with Staff
Our staff has started a monthly food justice discussion group! We studied resources from our friends at Food First and the Museum of the African Diaspora MoAD.This month we talked about decolonizing and dismantling racism within food systems. We learned how everyday acts of preparing food and meals can be forms of political acts and resistance against white supremacy. We also learned about the intersectionality & shared experiences of various communities of color within food justice work and how our work comes alongside the work that is already being done in these communities.
Read What We Are Reading!
In the coming months we’ll be talking about everything from urban agriculture in a global context, to how too often our movements are plagued by white saviorism and what we can do about it.
