Composting
City Slicker Farms uses the biointensive growing method for farming. This means we grow as much food as possible in a small area of land, while improving the soil. In order to support this method, we need to generate lots of compost. We use food scraps from a select few local food businesses, as well as horse manure from local stables. The scraps and manure are then composted in our community market farms using the basic composting method or vermicomposting. If you have horse manure you would like to donate to us, please call our office. We do not need anymore food scraps.
