The Grand Opening of the West Oakland Farm Park is Here!
Grand Opening weekend is here! City Slicker Farms is hosting a community party on Saturday, June 11 and Sunday, June 12 to mark the opening of a brand new urban farm and public park: the West Oakland Farm Park. Join us for a celebration of healthy food, urban nature, community health, nutrition, and resilience.
The event is from 11AM-5PM on Saturday, June 11 and from 10AM-5PM on Sunday, June 12. Festivities will take place at the West Oakland Farm Park, located at 2847 Peralta St. Oakland, CA 94608.

At a recent visit to one of our preschool garden sites, City Slicker Farms’ Childcare Garden coordinator Sarah Karlson stood amidst a group of four- and five-year-olds holding a piece of kale.
“Who can tell me what this is?” she asked. “Salad!” the kids yelled with excitement and recognition. “Yes, this is kale–we like to eat kale in salads!”
