New Community Market Farm Update

On Sunday, Nov. 1st, supporters of City Slicker Farms gathered to break ground at our new Community Market Farm located at Fitzerald and Union Plaza Parks (34th and Peralta) in West Oakland. Abeni, our Farm Coordinator, has been hard at work with our Community Advisory Council, local volunteers and interns on outreach and design plans for the new site. Host a Tool Drive for City Slicker Farms

As you can imagine, having plenty of functional gardening and carpentry tools is integral to our work. Without them, we absolutely can not achieve our mission! If your workplace, church or community group is interested in supporting City Slicker Farms, one great way to do so is to host a tool drive. We can provide you with a list of most needed tools and supplies, and arrange for pick ups of collected items. We are especially glad to take used tools! Our vision is to be able to provide needed gardening tools to participants in our Backyard Gardening Program. If you'd like more information or are ready to host a tool drive, please contact us to discuss how we can work together to increase our impact!
