Win Prizes While Learning How to Reduce Food Waste!
City Slicker Farms is partnering with StopWaste, a public agency that encourages recycling in Alameda County, to promote the use of your green bin at home.
As a direct recipient of finished compost collected from municipal green bins, we know how important it is to divert food scraps and yard trimmings from the waste stream and turn them into nutritious compost to nourish our community’s urban farms. Right now StopWaste is giving incentives for Alameda County residents to learn more about how they can reduce their own food waste.
Where do you put your leftover food scraps from dinner? Or how about that greasy pizza box? Put your knowledge to the test at ReadySetRecycle.org and you could win prizes. The Ready Set Recycle website offers prizes for entering the Recycling Rewards Challenge and provides recycling tips and resources for Alameda County residents.By taking the Recycling Rewards Challenge residents are entered for a chance to win $25 prizes each month. The challenges vary monthly and include answering trivia questions, watching an educational video, and engaging with StopWaste via Facebook and Twitter. Rewards Challenge winners can choose from a variety of prizes such as a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm fresh produce box, bagged compost, gift cards, or a donation to the Alameda County Community Food Bank.
