City Slicker Farms

Today is the day we say goodbye to 2014 and welcome in a new year!  At City Slicker Farms, we’re proud to be celebrating all of the accomplishments we made over the past four growing seasons, and all of the relationships we’ve built with our donors, program participants, allies, and volunteers.

City Slicker Farms was founded on the tradition of sharing resources and building community.  We hope that you will feel moved to help support this tradition by making a gift of $50, $100, or $250 to support our Community Market Farms, Backyard Garden, and Urban Farming Education programs.

Today is the last day to double your impact. A generous anonymous donor has offered to match all end-of-year gifts up to $25,000. But you must give today.

In the spirit of sharing and strengthening traditions, we want to offer you one of our own. A couple of our staff celebrate the new beginning by cooking certain foods to attract good things in the coming year. 

Collard greens and black eyed peas are said to bring luck and prosperity in the New Year, and cooking them on New Years Day can set a positive tone for success and sustainability for the next 365 days.  Cook them however you like, the important thing is that you cook them with someone you love!

As we get ready to turn the page to 2015, we hope you’ll continue to support City Slicker Farms going forward. We have so much gratitude for the support you’ve given us, and we look forward to partnering with you again in the New Year.
